A Busy Month Ahead

Well, May is almost full! We only have one Saturday left for a photo session: May 31. Mini-sessions are also available if you are up for Sunday afternoons. Call if you are wanting to get those photos taken before it gets really hot :)

Senior Portraits: Lindsey

I got to shoot some of my students today (with a camera :) We had a lot of fun, all 3 seniors got their cap & gown pictures and fun on-location shots in one marathon photo session. I have tons of great photos to share, but I'm only partly through the processing at the moment. Here are a couple of Lindsey to start off:

Spring is upon us, and I am really happy to be scheduling photo shoots for several families. Right around the corner I'll be doing senior photo sessions for Star High School Graduates, along with on-location shoots all over the area.

What to Wear??

What should you wear to a photo session?

I say, go for something simple. The focus should be on you, not on what you are wearing. Try one of your favorite outfits. You want to look good and be at least semi-comfortable, too. :) The best thing is solid colors or a very simple pattern. Try to stay away from logos or writing. They don't photograph well.

Remember, you are in charge and we will work with whatever clothing you choose, but here are some suggestions if you were wondering...

Newborns: Onesies or no clothes at all work well.

Older babies: anything simple and only one or two colors is best. Please remember a couple of changes just in case! :)

Children: Whatever you love to see them in (but without logos or cartoon characters)

Seniors: Anything you like! This is the time to show off your style. Letter jackets, sports uniforms, etc., along with your favorite outfits.

Couples: Similar clothing styles.

Groups/Families: Similar clothing syles, and think about the colors you want. One option is for everyone to choose different shades of the same color. Or boys could wear a color, and girls a different color. It's really up to you. Have fun with it!

We've got some exciting new products to offer! I have been working with a great photo lab to figure out what would be most beneficial to all of you, and we have come up with some great deals...

I am now offering a hardcover "coffee table" style book to display your photos. The book starts out with 20 pages, and can hold tons of your images from our photo session. It is a very attractive and durable display option that can be enjoyed for years to come.

I have looked at the larger prints and I am now offering 16x20, 20x30, 24x30, and 30x40 in addition to all of the smaller print sizes. Also ask me about framing for your prints.

Two other new albums are available for you to choose from. These are deluxe flush mount leather albums. Call or email for details!

What is a photo session like?

When we meet for your photo session, plan on having a good time! I specialize in on-location photography, which means we'll decide on a place that fits your style as a backdrop to show off your personality. If you have an idea of a place, that is great. If not, I can help you decide on a location to create the look you want.

I don't limit you on how many outfits or how many shots I'll take. And I don't normally do studio sessions, so the resulting portraits don't look overly posed. Feel free to bring someone with you if you'd like. Basically, I am up for whatever you want. If you want some photos sitting on the hood of your truck, or riding your horse, or just standing by a creek, that is all possible! If you want some more formal photos, I can do that, too. We will have a consultation before the session so that I can get an idea of what kind of portraits you want.

Business Cards came in, they're great!

I got my new business cards yesterday, and I am impressed with the photo lab I've chosen to do all of the prints for Diamond L Photography. I designed them; the quality is good, and it was just done on a press printer, which isn't as advanced as the printers used to make the actual photo prints... If you have a business card and you show it when we schedule your photo shoot, I will give you a free 4x6 print when you make a print order!

Glamour Photo Shoot

We have set a date for our glamour photo shoot! Some of the lovely ladies from Star School have expressed an interest in doing some fun, glam shots in feather boas and bling jewelry, so I get to go shopping now!

April 5, 2008 is the big day. There will be plenty of curling irons, makeup, and fun to go around. I can't wait!
